1314567 Recovering metals from solutions MOSKOVSKY TEXTILNY INSTITUT 4 June 1970 26917/70 Heading C7D [Also in Division C3] Metals such as mercury and noble metals are recovered from solutions containing them, e.g. industrial waste waters, by passing the solutions through an adsorbing column containing a graft polymer comprising cellulose or a synthetic polymer grafted with polyactylthioamide and subsequently burning the graft polymer to recover the metal. By this means, noble metals may be removed from a solution containing these metals and other metals such as iron, copper, nickel, aluminium cobalt and zinc. In addition, a solution may be passed through a first column in which palladium and platinum are adsorbed and then through a second column, at a higher temperature, in which iridium, rhodium and ruthenium are adsorbed.
