The appliance for force-locked connection between two ribbed reinforcing bars has a roller assembly for pressing a sleeve onto the bar ends. This has two round groove rollers (2), held in a roller housing unit (1) with pivot pins (15). The roller assembly is driven by a hydraulic press, with a spur rack (3) enabling it to act in conjunction with teeth (14) in the pivot pins. The round grooves may be roughened or profiled. The housing may be connected to the piston of the hydraulic press, and the spur rack to its cylinder.
