1447492 Cyclodextrin glycosyltransferase ex Bacillus macerans SHELL INTERNATIONALE RESEARCH MAATSCHAPPIJ BV 14 Dec 1973 [14 Dec 1972] 57697/72 Heading C3H Cyclodextrin glycosyltransferase is obtained by growing Bacillus macerans in a liquid medium comprising initially up to 30% w./v., for example 5-30% w./v. of a soluble starch as the source of carbon, a source or sources of nitrogen and phosphorus, essential minerals and the vitamins biotin and thiamine, under conditions which allow the starch concentration in the medium to fall to a level at which growth of the B. macerans becomes limited and thereafter allowing the bacillis to produce CGT. The preferred culture medium contains soluble starch, thiamine, biotin, zinc oxide, ammonium, phosphate, sulphate, chloride, citrate and molybdate ions and sources of magnesium, calcium, potassium, manganese and iron, and optionally as an additional carbon source, maltose.
