Liquid level indicator - utilising plastic floats indifferent to cryogenic fluids

Level indicator for cryogenic reservoirs, comprising a probe tube with a graduated tape passing over a pulley and past an inspection window in response to the relative positions of a float and a sinker on opposite ends of the tape. Pref. the probe tube and the suspended profiles engage to prevent twisting of the tape by spinning of the float or the sinker. Pref. the float is made of PVC, 'Teflon' (RTM) or -Afcodur' (RTM). Pref. the sinker has a mass approx. 2/3 that of the float, but a density greater than that of the liquid. The graduated tape is of polyimide.
