Feeding mechanism for locating integrated circuits carried by perforated strips under working stations, or for film strips has claws gripping alternate sets of perforations. Other perforations are used for accurate locating. Driven by electric motor (1), a rotating cam (9) with a shaped slot moves a primary (17) and a secondary (21) slide together in linear motion. The secondary slide drives a third slide (26) carrying the gripping claws (32). The secondary and third slides, these have inclined planes (23, 30) working together to engage and disengage the claws once every cycle. The rotary cam also closes a microswitch (8) each cycle and this operates the working heads.
