1475989 Securing crane track rails M J FRENCH 16 May 1974 [21 May 1973] 24211/73 Heading E1G A crane rail 4 is clamped on a support 5 by the central portion 3 of a U-clip 1 of bar spring steel whose divergent arcuate limbs 2 have reverse bends leading to straight ends 7 extending towards the rail, the straight ends 7 seating on a lateral-abutment plate 8 (optionally in selected grooves therein) and being clamped by a plate 12 and spring disc 14 on a stud 10 welded to the support. The stud aperture in the polygonal plate 8 may be eccentric to allow a choice of lateral abutment surfaces. The plate 8 may subsequently be welded in position. In a modification the clip limbs are out-turned, rather than inturned, and are clamped on studs (26, 26) spaced longitudinally of the rail.
