Matrix holder - for the simultaneous removal of remnant ingot and surface film from a hollow ram extruder

Matrix holder for a hollow ram extruder incorporates a hollow-tube ram and a thrust member that is firmly connected with a support tube and has a matrix receptacle which continues into a channel. The thrust member has a cylindrical section on its exterior, the dia. of which determines the thickness of the surface film. The frontal section is undercut at an angle of 1-3 degrees, and the rear section undercut at 1 degree 30' to 5 degrees. The degree of freedom of the thrust member w.r.t. the ram is determined by an adjustable mechanism attached to the end of the support tube which is threaded and opposite the thrust member.
