The machine is for sealing tubular packings by clips, there being a guide in the plate for the clips and a die at one end working in conjunction with a punch to close the clip. The plate, preferably of plastics, has steel guides inserted in it and anchored by standard size pins. The die is fixed to the rear of the plate by a piece of sheet metal. On the opposite side of the plate to this sheet metal a holder plate can be provided pivoting about an axis, its upper edge when in the rest position lying above the upper edge of the die. The holder plate can be spring-loaded into the rest position.
