Successive programme functions in an automatic audio or video disc record-changing mechanism can be varied by depression of buttons which influence the operation processes of a programme control disc. The latter incorporates a section which is set at rest when a button is pushed inwards against spring pressure. The button is one one end of a shaft which passes through the section and through another connection section working with the first. A rod section of the shaft moves into a sleeve in another section against the action of a spring and is held in position by a ratchet dropping down to engage against a post.
