Different symbols are transmitted by waves of opposite phases. The fundamental wave of a carrier oscillation is set to the same telegraph speed; a scanning pulse train is generated at the receiver at the pulse train beginning; its frequency is twice that of the carrier oscillation, and it is used for the transmitted signal scanning with a phase delay of a quarter period; a signal train is derived from the scanned amplitudes, whose scanned values are maintained for a half period of the scanning pulse train; they are used directly, or delayed by one, two or three quarters of a period for generation of a pulse train corresponding to the transmitted signal.
