The circuit has an externally controlled oscillator which controls a switching component in the load circuit. A rechargeable battery is provided in the switching device for the oscillator supply and for control current for the switching component generation; the battery is a button cell, with a switch in series with it. The circuit can be connected by two external wires to an A.C. voltage source and a load. The battery acts as a buffer which can operate as wanted either closed upon itself or switched through to the load circuit. This arrangement needs neither a remainder current nor remainder voltage.
