The design of a monitoring system for a yarn comb, for use in a Raschel machne or an automatic warp knitter, uses two-inch elements with spring-loaded contact switches. The design gives a unit which is easily manufactured in large numbers, which can be assembled into any required width, allowing easy replacement, which can be fitted to any unit without ancillary components, giving individual monitoring of individual yarns.
