The temperature regulator and overload protection system has a PTC thermistor to regulate the current supply and to prevent overloads. A mechanical device is employed to protect the circuitry against overloading if the thermistor itself fails. The mechanical device consists of a fuse body that under normal, non-overload conditions, i.e. under conditions that the thermistor can handle if it is working properly holds two spring contacts together. If the thermistor fails so that the temperature rises without restrained, the fuse body melts and the spring contacts separate. One contact is formed by a spring ring with bent ends surrounding the fuse boyd and spring urged against the other contact.
