High speed air-sprung railway bogie mounting - with three longitudinal bearers, and three axle bearings on each wheel pair

The system is to prevent roll, and ensure smooth running and safety on wagons with pneumatic suspension, designed to run at speeds of 250-300 km/h. There are three longitudinal bearers, on each bogie frame. Of the three axle bearings on each of its pairs of wheels, two lie outside the wheels the axles of which are interrupted at the centre bearing and interconnected by an elastic coupling which transfers torsional moments. There are pref. two pneumatic springs between each bogie frame and an intermediate bearer, each such bearer being connected to the wagon body by a pivot, and to the bogie frame by articulated rods which transfer horizontal forces without impeding vertical movements.
