The intensive culture of fish is carried out by (a) cultivating a primary vegetable food source (algae, etc) in a 1st tank with a supply of nutrients salts and CO2 largely under artificial illumination, (b) transferring part of the primary food source to a 2nd tank for small aquatic animals (water-fleas, etc.) which is supplied with the O2 produced by assimilation of CO2 in the 1st tank, (c) allowing the small animals to multiply and then transferring part thereof to a 4th tank for fry and a 5th tank for young fish, and part to a 3rd tank for the cultivation of larger aquatic animals, while keeping the rest in the 2nd tank for further multiplication, and (d) transferring part of the larger aquatic animals to a 6th tank, which is warmed, supplied with O2 and artificially illuminated, for the growth of the adult fish. The process can be applied both to freshwater and to see fish. The cultivation of the fish and their primary and secondary food sources is carried out under highly intensive conditions.
