Rotary power head for driving drilling rods has a driven tubular shaft to which at its drilling rods facing end a coupling is attached for connecting it with the drilling rods. The coupling consists of a cardan ring which rotates a pivotable interchangeable flange. Mounted coaxially in the tubular shaft is a tube for supplying water for washing out the drilled hole. The tube is either a length of steel pipe held at one end in a cover enclosing the tubular shaft and projecting with other in sealed hollow space enclosed by the cardan ring or is a length of an interchangeable armoured hose rigidly connected at one end to a tubular projection of the shaft cover and connected at other end to a tubular projection of the pivotable driving flange.
