Concentrating and cleaning aluminium hydroxide gel - in centrifugal-cleaning filter provided with rotating filter disc

Aluminium hydroxide gel, esp. sterile gel carrying bacteria or virus antigenes for medical or veterinary uses, is purified and concd. by filtering in a centrifugal-cleaning filter provided with a filter disc, which can be periodically rotated to effect centrifugal removal of the gel clogging the filter pores. The filtering time is greatly reduced. The rotation of the filter disc results in homogenisation of the gel, whereby its concn. is greatly increased (to 4-8% of dry substance compared with 1-2% in conventional filters). The concd. gel can be easily diluted to the required concn.
