Electrostatographic recording material consists of a support, e.g. paper, and of a dielectric binder layer, esp. 5-20 mu thick, which contains, as binder, a copolymer of 75-94 (87-92) mol.% C2H4 and 25-6 13-8) mol.% acrylic- and/or methacrylic acid with free COOH gps. Binder layer pref. also contains 20-80 wt. %, w.r.t. total solids content of dielectric binder layer, CaCO3 particles having av. particle size 0.5-8 mu. Material is used in high speed electrostatic printing devices and facsimile-printing. Excellent physicl and electrical properties are obtd.; copolymer salts can be dissolved or emulsified in water and can be applied safely. Damping of surface voltage of binder layer is 5-7% even a high air humidity.
