Counting appts. for liquid suspended particles - uses microscope with liquid samples deposited on moving band

The samples are prepared by depositing the liquid from a burette (9) onto a moving band, advanced at a constant speed, so that the sample passes through the field of view of an objective (11) associated with the automatic particle counting appts. The moving band may be formed by an endless web which passes through a cleaning station (17, 18, 19) after the liquid samples have passed through the objective field, or by the lateral surface of a rotating disc (10). The liquid sample containing the micro particles is prepared by a dilution appts (1, 2) and a fluorescent dye may be added to facilitate viewing of the particles.
