Code translation for time division multiplex systems - converting PCM to delta modulation and vice versa

The equipment provides a conversion in which an improved signal to noise ratio is achieved by signal compression/decompression. An incoming Delta modulated signal with sampling frequency F1 is used to regenerate the digital value of the signal and this is stored in a memory. This is then converted to a sampling rate of F0 and again stored. The PCM value is next calculated, stored, and output at a sampling rate of F2. A read only memory is used to contain the coefficients used in these calculations and F0 is chosen as the least common multiple of F1, F2.
