The packing is for assemblies with an external component to which an internal one is flexibly attached, e.g. a record player. Part of the external component acts as a temporary support for the inner one and for an external transport plate. In the wall of the external component are one or more assembly openings on a horizontal plane intersecting the centre of gravity of the internal component when the complete assembly is in the transport position. The transport plate has coupling devices extending through the wall opening. These engage with the inner component, and when pulled up tight clamp the outer component wall between the latter and the plate.
