1388323 Money dispensers GLORY KOGYO KK 22 Sept 1972 [28 Sept 1971] 43908/72 Heading G4X In a money dispenser there are detecting means 1, 2 for producing respective signals Pa, Pb on operation of a dispensing mechanism and the actual dispensation of a piece of money, either a banknote or a coin, through a dispensing outlet and means for evaluating the time lapse between said signals thereby to detect a fault in the dispenser. In the embodiment shown pulses Pa produced on each operative movement of the dispensing mechanism are applied as counting inputs to a counter 3 and pulses Pb are applied as reset inputs to the counter. If the counter reaches a predetermined level before being reset it operates via gate 5 to set flip-flop 6 to operate an alarm 7 and disable dispensing driving section 8. In a second embodiment (Fig. 2, not shown), the pulses (Pa) set a flip-flop (G1, G2) to charge a capacitor (C), which is discharged when the flip-flop is reset by a pulse (Pb). If the time-lapse between the pulses is excessive the voltage across capacitor (C) reaches a level sufficient to render transistor (T2) conductive and hence activate the alarm and disable the driving section. In a further similar embodiment, (Figs. 3, 4, not shown), the signal (Pa 1 ) is produced continuously while the dispensing mechanism is in operation and hence the flip-flop (G1, G2) is not required.
