The television camera is moved across the surface of a photographic slide of the landscape, so that a selected animation zone of the latter is in the image field of the camera. Optical means allow a second image identical to that of the landscape to be obtained, but with a zone of zero luminence, due to the interposition of a screen, corresponding to the former animation zone. The screen is connected to the mechanical drive system for moving the television camera across the first image of the landscape. An image of the vehicle is added electronically to the television image and this combined image is added in turn to the second image, to fit into the zero luminance zone of the latter and provide the final animated image.
