Compounds of the formula WHEREIN A is trimethylene, tetramethylene, trimethyleneoxy, methylenedioxy, ethylenedioxy or, together with the adjacent benzene ring, beta -naphthyl, R1 is alkyl of one to four carbon atoms, alkanoyl of two to seven carbon atoms, (alkyl of one to four carbon atoms)-carbamoyl or phenyl-carbamoyl, R2 is hydrogen, alkyl of one to four carbon atoms, alkoxy of one to four carbon atoms, halogen or trifluoromethyl, R3 is hydrogen, alkyl of one to four carbon atoms, alkoxy of one to four carbon atoms or halogen, and R2 and R3, together with each other and the carbon atoms of the phenyl ring to which they are attached, form the benzene ring, AND NON-TOXIC, PHARMACOLOGICALLY ACCEPTABLE ACID ADDITION SALTS THEREOF; THE COMPOUNDS AS WELL AS THE SALTS ARE USEFUL AS NEUROLEPTICS, ANALGESICS, SPASMOLYTICS, BRONCHOLYTICS, HYPOTENSIVES AND ANTI-CHOLESTEREMICS.
