A coating, preferably a powder coating, composition comparising a polymerized resin having isocyanate reactive functionality and an organic polyisocyanate cross linking agent having at least one blocked isocyanate group and at least one isocyanate group that has been reacted with an agent that after curing of the coating composition is an internal plasticizing agent for the resin but prior to curing is an external plasticizing agent for the resin, wherein the polyisocyanate is first reacted with the blocking agent and the product of the reaction is reacted with the plasticizing agent.
