The holder is made from a sheet or strip of fairly rigid material, which can nevertheless deform between the masticating surfaces of the teeth and is provided with a transverse weakened seam (1) dividing the sheet into folding parts (2, 3) one of which (2) has adhesive on one side. Pref. the strip is divided by three symmetrical weakened seams into folding parts with adhesive on one side. The weakened seams are formed by perforations or by cutting partially through them. The other side of the sheet is corrugated to further prevent slipping between the teeth. The plate is easily and inexpensively manufactured and can held in place at different angles rather than just at right angles to the occluded plane.
