The constant voltage DC supply circuit is fed from either a single or multiphase mains transformer (2), one secondary winding of which supplies the load via a rectifier bridge (4) and a low-pass filter circuit (8). A second winding (B) supplies a static inverter (5) via a diode (3). The output of the inverter is a pulse train of constant amplitude but varying pulse width and is added to that of the rectifier bridge. A comparator circuit (6) is fed from the output circuit (9) and a reference voltage source (7); the resultant control signal causes frequency variation of the pulse output of the inverter. The output voltage at the load is maintained at a constant level against variations in supply voltage.
