A square wave generator (b) feeds its output into an AND gate, which in turn feeds into a counter (Z). The square wave generator may be an astable multivibrator or a multivibrator triggered by a switching network. The impulses reaching the counter are registered by it and are passed to a decoding device (D) connected to a display device (A). A second decoder (D2) changes the binary coded signals of the counter (Z) to decimal coded signals. The individual steps (1-n) each have their outputs connected to a store which holds the values of the operational time of each stage. The stores are all connected via the decoder (D2) to the counter (Z).
