The programmed television switch has two parallel slide brackets actuating a wafer with contacts along the edges. The slide brackets move in a straight line at right angles to the wafer mounting. The wafer pivots around two holes, one of which is slotted in the direction at right angles to the direction of motion. The two slide brackets are linked and the effect is that when both are moved simultaneously in the same direction in a straight line this will cause the wafer to move in a straight line. When they are moved in opposite directions with respect to each other, the motion of the wafer will be rotary.
