Tumbler pin holder for cylinder lock - has intermediate plugs as locking members between ends of pins

The tumbler pin holding arrangement in a rotating cylinder lock has a number of tumbler pin rows arranged outside its longitudinal central plane. The pins are not able to rotate in their seats and their top ends have curved faces which support intermediate plugs. The other side of these plugs contacts the pins in the cylindrical housing. This eliminates the use of precision guide faces for the intermediate plugs which can be produced relatively cheaply on automatic lathes. The peripheral surfaces of the plug are at right angles to the square and flat end faces. A cylindrical plug can also have notches on its peripheral faces. This intermediate plug acts as a blocking member between the spring loaded pin and the pin end in the cylindrical housing.
