1454250 A paraffin emulsion for timber preservation DEUTSCHE TEXACO AG 24 June 1975 [1 July 1974] 26805/75 Heading A5E A paraffin-in-water emulsion comprises an insecticide and/or fungicide and, as an emulsifier system, an alkanolamine salt of montanic acid and a ethoxylated C 10 -C 20 fatty alcohol containing from 8-12 ethoxy groups in the molecule. Preferred insecticides are malathion and dimethoate, and the preferred fungicide is tributyl tin borate. The emulsion provides protection for timber by means of a complete or uninterrupted paraffin film which can be easily removed by re-emulsification when required.
