Selective electroplating of strip - by partial immersion of the moving strip in an electrolyte flowing through a tank

The device for the electroplating of strip- or tape-matl. travelling longitudinally through a tank contg. the electrolyte, the tank is fitted with two opposite walls provided with open slots through which the strip travels, and an inlet is used to feed a controlled amt. of electrolyte into the tank, the liq. then flowing out via the spaces between the slots and the strip in the walls. The walls provided with the slots are pref. intermediate walls in the tank so that two end compartments are formed which are used as drain outlets for the liq., and the device is pref. used for the partial electroplating of the strip or tape. The device is used for the total or selective electroplating of strip matl., e.g. with precious metal, the selective plating being achieved by partial immersion of the strip.
