A wall- or table-lamp is combined with an electrically heated humidifier to form a single unit. When the water container in the humidifier runs dry, the cut-out switches off the vaporiser heater and an automatic warning light lights up and remains lit until the container is refilled. For the warning signal, the lamp itself may light up fully or with a subdued glow or a separate warning light in the humidifier may come on. an electric control light in the humidifier switch may come on to indicate when the vaporiser is switched on. The lamp can be switched on and off manually by a separate switch.
