The lorry is fitted with a set of parallel rollers so that loads can be easily moved along the vehicle. The rollers are mounted in angled slots in side rails and are further mounted in control bars which can be moved along the guide rails using rams. This causes the bearings to move up and down the inclined slots. The rollers are raised into the transport position, while when they are lowered they rest on the floor of the vehicle and are prevented from rotating. The loads are thus stabilised, especially if the floor is covered with plastics or rubber. For added security the rollers can be lowered sufficiently to rest the loads on the upper edges of the guide rails.
