In the automatic adjustment or tuning of the actual frequency of mechanical resonators, made of a magnetic matl. and provided with holding pegs, to a specified frequency, where resonator matl. is removed by controlled laser radiation depending on a comparison showing the deviation from the specified frequency the resonators are fed to a guide rail or chute in which they are first demagnetised and fed to a magnetising station, after which they are clamped in holders and fed along a circular path to a laser tuning device followed by measuring the resonant frequency and comparing the value obtd. with a specified tolerance range. The resonators are then sorted according to the value obtd. and discharged via at least two outlets. The pref. transporting and inspection devices are covered by lengthy claims and 9 figs. Fully automatic inspection, frequency tuning and sorting of mechanical resonators is obtd.
