The metal-encased polyphase switch gear has a circuit breaker and a disconnector mounted coaxially for each phase. The circuit breakers and disconnectors are mounted parallel to one another in a common housing. The operating rods for the circuit breakers and disconnectors pass through one another telescopically and are linked at their ends each to a separate operating shaft. The operating shafts are parallel to one another and at right angles to the tubular housing's axis. One shaft has a forked sliding-pin linkage and the other shaft a simple sliding-pin linkage which is fixed to the forked linkage.
