The circuit monitors the effect on battery terminal voltage at the differing rates of discharge under two load conditions. When the difference reaches a predetermined high magnitude an alarm or indication is switched in. The terminal voltage when receiving may be stored in a capacitor and then compared, via suitable amplifiers and gates, with the value obtained under one condition. The latter may be applied via a monostable vibrator for a sufficiently long period to enable comparison and allow the subsequent switching of a flip-flop, if the set difference magnitude is exceeded. The alarm or indicator is under the control of the flip-flop, and switching back to the other condition resets the voltage on the capacitor.
