Wiper bar for pantograph - has carbon strip attached to metal support using adhesive metal foil

The wiper bar of the pantograph is formed by a strip of carbon-type material (1) with high temperature properties. It is attached to the metal pantograph support (3) by an adhesive foil (2) applied to the bottom of the strip. The adhesive is conducting, and has a pattern of perforation holes to allow as much contact between the strip and the metal as possible. Heat and pressure bonding provides good ohmic contact with no hot spots from high resistance areas. The pantograph is suitable for high speed traction applications, and is simple to replace.
