Bone fracture healing medicaments - contg. an unsatd. fatty acid salt in a gel carrier

The medicaments comprises gel prepsn. with a pH of 8-11 contg. (a) a non-necrotic salt of a 10-22C unsatd fatty acid which is practically free of satd. fatty acid sals, and (b) a compatible gel carrier. The medicaments accelerate the healing of a wide variety of fracture types in humans and animals, including mosaic fractures in horses ('bucked shins'), and can also be used to treat bone demineralisation around metal screws, etc, inserted into bones, and the 'dry socket syndrome' associated with tooth extraction. Healing times can be reduced, e.g. from 18 months to 8-10 weeks, and plaster casts are not needed. The gel prepns. are superior in the respect to the liq. prepns. in the Parent Patent.
