Combustion engine speed regulator is positioned between the control elements of the fuel pump and comprises a centrifugal regulator driven by the crank shaft, which operates a pump control lever acting on one of the pump control rods and acting against a spring whose tension is determined by rotation of a spring lever. The pivots about which the pump control lever and the spring lever rotate are at right angles to the plane through the longitudinal axes of the pump control rods.
