Stabilising granular ground - using coaxial pipes oscillated in ground for spreading stabilising medium

The machine used for solidifying of granular ground ensures that the ground is made suitable and stable for later construction work. The arrangement has a pair of pipes (1, 2) held coaxially with a clearance between them. The pipe assembly is inserted into the ground and held at constant depth and pipes are oscillated in a vertical direction. The pipes can be oscillated separately. Into the space between the pipes is pumped stabilising material (7) such as cement together with granular additives. Calcium oxide or other chemicals can also be used. The stabilising agent flows through the gap between the pipes downwards and outwards into the granular surrounding material due to the oscillating movement. The pipes are inserted and retracted by the machine imposing the vibrating and oscillating movement.
