Conversion of a soft ground layer into stabilized and hardened under ground, such as is necessary for civil structures where, with the aid of impeller mixing mechanisms (31) the soft ground layer (2) has a fixing medium continuously mixed into it up to a given depth (H) from the supporting sub.layer (1) and at a given width (W) and length (L). In a line, several stabilised walls (3) are formed in the soft ground layer (2) at a given distance. Specifically, a stabilised ground in the form of parallel crosses is formed in the soft ground layer. Preferably after the formation of the stabilised hardened ground the soft ground layer is partially or fully stabilised to a predetermined height in a predetermined zone.
