In an appts. for delivering sheets of packing matl. from a roll thereof, provided in known manner with a hollow cylindrical roll along which a slot extends and a movable sheet or sheet holder, and constructed for the support of a roll of the packing matl. in such a way that this can move round a considerable part of the hollow roll periphery and come into contact wiht a part of the sheet through the slot in that roll, the improvement whereby the sheet is a perforating sheet or the sheet holder is designed to hold such a sheet and is situated within the roll, while means are provided acting on the rotation of roll round its axis for reciprocating the sheet or the holder so that part of the sheet alternately moves in and out between a posn. where the packing matl. on the roll surface cannot be perforated and a posn. in which it can be perforated, and a cutting device is provided for cutting matl. which has been moved over the perforating roll and is gripped by hand and drawn along the device, thus causing the roll of matl. and the perforating roll to rotate in such a way that more matl. is drawn off the roll and is perforated and then in tension can be drawn over the cutting device along the line of perforations. PRovides a simple cheap hand-operated device for drawing off packing matl., partic. 'cling' film and separating pre-set lengths of film by cutting along peroration lines.
