Air tight pot of parent patent for yoghourt or cottage cheese which is produced in the pot by coagulation of milk followed by drainage of whey into a smaller compartment to leave the curds in the larger compartment, a perforated partition being used to divide the pot into the two compartments. The pot is tubular and longitudinally tapered, e.g. frusto-conical, the smaller drainage compartment being adjacent the base of the pot and the product compartment adjacent a sealed-on, removable lid. In the addition, the partition is not perforated and drainage takes place via peripheral clearance slots which are too small for the passage of curds; the partition is spaced from the base by fitting to lugs on the wall of the pot or resting on legs reacting down to the base. Whey is prevented from coming back into the product compartment when the lid is removed for consumption of product. The product has a sealed shelf life of two to three months.
