Cooking utensil with heating element in lid - uses upturned lid hot plate supporting inner container

A portable electric cooking utensil comprises an outer container (1) and an inner container (3), normally supported by its beaded edge (3b). The lid (4) has a double lining (6, 7) containing a heating element (8) around the edges and retained by insulation. The lid has a socket (9) for connecting an electrical supply. When the lid is positioned on top of the outer container, with the inner container in place, the element fits inside the flared mouth of this inner container to cook the contents. With the lid upturned, inner or outer container can seat in, or on, the heating element which is used as a hot plate.
