1448657 Pyran-carboxylic acid anilides HOECHST AG 2 April 1975 [4 April 1974] 13570/75 Heading C2C Novel pyran-carboxylic acid anilides of Formula I in which R is C 2 or C 3 alkyl or alkoxy in the 2- or 3-position, are prepared either by (a) reacting a 2-methyl-5,6-dihydro-4H-pyran-3-carboxylic acid halide, preferably the acid chloride, with an R-substituted aniline in the presence of an inorganic or tertiary organic base or an excess of the aniline, or (b) reacting 2-methyl-5,6-dihydro.4H-pyran-3-carboxylic acid with an R- substituted phenyl isocyanate, or (c) reacting a 2 - methyl - 5,6 - dihydro - 4H - pyran - 3 - carboxylic acid ester with an R-substituted aniline in the presence of an anhydrous inorganic base. The compounds of Formula I are used in fungicidal compositions.
