Antioedema and antiinflammatory phenyl-acetic acid derivs. - by reacting (2') methoxy-(4')-phenyl-phenylacetic acids with e.g. boron trihalide
Phenylacetic acid derivs. of formula (I) and their salts are new: In (I) R1=1-10C alkl, 3-8C cycloalkyl or phenyl. (I) are prepd. by reacting a cpd. (II) in which R2 = lower alkyl; with a borontrihalide or with a halohydrogen acid. The cpds. obtd. may opt. be reacted to form salts. (I) have oedema- and inflammation-inhibitory activity as well as analgesic and antipyretic activity. (I) may also be used as intermediates in the synthesis of other pharmacologically-interesting cpds.
