The adjustable adaptive equaliser consists of a canonical branching network containing delay lines, adders and setting circuits. A logical decision circuit is connected to the output of the equaliser and its input and output are connected to a differential amplifier. The amplifier's output is connected over a sign detector to a delay line. The logic circuit's output is connected over another sign detector to a shift register. The output of the delay line and the tappings of the shift register area connected to modulo-2 adders.
