A weft selector mechanism for shuttleless looms producing two fabric one above the other, in which the weft ends are drawn from stationary supply packages and inserted about the half way through the shed, where they are transferred and drawn through the other half; has, for each of the two fabrics a group of reciprocating thread positioning devices. The groups are arranged so that each device of group is parallel to one device of group and is linked to it, as well as to a Bowden cable so that the two move simultaneously. The guides for the positioning devices in each group, are aligned to a common focal point, so that the yarn presented by the eyelet at that point, can be picked up by the weft inserters. The guides of the devices of group are located at the side of, and offset vertically to those of the devices of group. They lie in vertical planes parallel to each other and at right angles to the lines of motion of the picks. Each pair of devices is linked at the rear end by a bridging piece and is held by a cable controlled by the weft patterning system against the pull of a spring tending to draw the eyelets to the points. Makes is possible to weave two fabrics in this type of loom fitted with crankshaft drive for the sley, at very high speed and with selection of different colours or kinds of wefts.
