The electrographic copier has the copy sheets obtained by cutting the web fed from a copy sheet supply roll, and includes a detector (MSLO) responsive to the presence of the supply roll. The distance travelled by the copy between the detector (MSLO) and the following stationary web transport appts. (9) is longer than the distances between the subsequen web transport appts.
